Wallenpaupack Took on Pleasant Valley at home on Friday April 14th. Paupack was looking to get back on track, after losing in heartbreaking controversial fashion to North Pocono on Wednesday. But that game was in the past, and the team had to focus on the task ahead. Sure enough they did! Hunter Myers started the game off by hitting her first home run of the season, driving in Kailyn Kielbasa. Josie Leighton would then strike in the 2nd inning as she hit missile of her own. Wren Fredrick and Abby Steiner also drove in 2 more runs in the inning. For the next two innings the ladybucks continued their onslaught. Josie Leighton hit her 2nd moonshot of the day. It was then followed by 10 more runs scored for Wallenpaupack, forcing a mercy rule in the 4th inning. The final score was 15-0 Buckhorns. Josie Leighton had a monster day, going 3-3 including 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and combining with Gabby Hieber on a one hit shutout. Hunter Myers also had a big day going 2-3 with 1 home run and 1 double. It was a fantastic team performance and effort overall. Wallenpaupack’s next game is on Monday at Abington Heights.
