On May 25, Wallenpaupack Area High School hosted a Rain Rally. The Rain Rally is a fundraiser designed to help the special Olympics. To be able to participate in the Rally, each class who wanted to participate had to donate twenty dollars together. The younger grades, elementary and middle school, also had to donate twenty dollars per class to participate. The school rented out a fire truck, and it poured water (rained) down onto the students. The school estimated that all classes raised around $1500-$2000.
We interviewed some of the helpers who spent all day working and helping with the fundraiser. We had asked one of the students why he/she wanted to assist with the rain rally, “It’s a nice fundraiser, it helps the kids out and they get to see different things. They get to look at a fire truck, and it’s a great experience for everyone.”
The Rain Rally was a huge success! The fundraiser would not have been able to be successful without the help of the students, faculty, staff, and administration in the Wallenpaupack Area!
