In the Guitar Club, members practice together, learn to play the guitar, and work on the maintenance of their instruments. Members are at various skill levels, some are just beginning, while others can play along with each other and improvise. You can join regardless of prior experience! Students who attend meetings also have diverse styles of musical preference, some play acoustic guitars while others may play blues or metal.
I interviewed Mr. James, who has been the faculty advisor of the Guitar Club for the past three years, to learn about all the club entails and about his experience as the advisor. As far as this year goes, Mr. James says that they do not have any events planned, but he is hoping to organize a performance to display the talent of the members next year. Mr. James’s favorite part of the Guitar Club is, “when students are able to share their ideas and play with each other.”
If you would like to join the Guitar Club, they meet after school in the band room every other week on Wednesday or Thursday. Listen to the morning and afternoon announcements to know when meetings will be held. The Guitar Club flyer is attached to this article to include more details, but if you have any further questions, you may reach out to Mr. James through Outlook, [email protected].
