On February 5, the varsity senior boys wrestlers were honored in unbelievable fashion. The seniors include Manny Caufield (145), Conan Kier (189), George Rafferty (285), Xaiden Schock (215), Nick Skokos (127), and Tommy Toth (152). Each of these talented seniors have made a long-lasting impact on the program, winning team districts for the first time in school history and boasting a 20-1 record – also best in school history.
The match was utter domination from the start, where Sophomore Tristian Braxton, Junior Gabe Caufield, and Senior Conan Kier won their matches in the opening three putting the Buckhorns up 15-0. The following four wrestlers won by pin putting Paupack up 36-0. From there, two more pins from Nick Skokos, and Manny Caufield, along with two technical fall wins from Kyle Scartelli and Tommy Toth secured a perfect match and a 67-0 win over North Pocono.
The boys will wrestle their last regular season match on Tuesday February 11 vs Scranton Prep at home. After the Prep dual is individual districts which will be held at Wilkes Barre Area High School on Friday February 21, and Saturday February 22.
