Rachel VanLouvender has left her mark on Wallenpaupack Area High School through her involvement in a wide range of activities, from music and performing arts to academics and athletics. A dedicated member of the wind ensemble, jazz band, show choir, chamber choir, WAHS Players, and swim team, she has also taken on leadership roles as a marching band section leader and choir officer. Her commitment extends to organizations like the National Honor Society (Gold Award), Local History Club, Student Ambassadors, Aevidum, and Geisinger Biomedical Research.
Rachel’s passion for music and performance has taken her across the country and beyond, with band trips to Montreal, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C., and choir trips to France and Italy. Despite juggling so many commitments, she considers her biggest accomplishment to be excelling in all of them while maintaining balance.
After high school, Rachel plans to attend Penn State at University Park to major in Animal Science before pursuing veterinary school to obtain her DVM and become a large animal veterinarian.
As she moves forward, she will miss the friendships she has made and the sense of familiarity she has built at WAHS. She is especially grateful for the teachers who have had a lasting impact on her journey, including Dr. Caruso, Mrs. Neenan, Mr. Warner, Mrs. Campbell, Sra. Petrillo, Mrs. McGinnis, Mrs. Gilson, and Dr. Schmalzle.
Rachel’s dedication, talent, and drive have made her a standout member of the WAHS community, and there is no doubt she will continue to achieve great things in the future.
