On March 7, two guest speakers, Kelli White and Kelly Gorman, visited the high school to speak about their career to students in the Protective Services, Allied Health, or Wallenpaupack Aeronautical Science & Aviation (WASA) programs. The meeting was held at 1:15 in room 242, and more than thirty students came to listen. At the end, students were welcome to ask questions or expand their aviation network.
Kelly Gorman is a critical care flight nurse on Northwell Health’s SkyHealth helicopter. She worked as a medi-vac nurse for two years in the sky and is now an ambulance nurse for Lehigh Valley Health Network. Kelli White is a pilot for the Air Force’s C-17, a four-engine military transport aircraft. She first started as a flight attendant but then gained an interest in being the pilot in the cockpit. Now she’s in the Air Force reserves making everyone jealous of the aircraft she’s flying.
On March 14, two more guest speakers will talk about their careers. They are Peter Lentine, a first officer for Jet Blue, and Adam Sheard, a charter pilot for Mayer Aviation. This will take place in room 242 at 1:30 pm. WASA has a network of industry professionals, all willing to help out the students and the program.
