The boys Track and Field team ended its regular season as the Lackawanna League Division 2 champs with a perfect 6-0 record, while the girls ended with an incredible 5-1 record. This past Tuesday both the boys and girls Track and Field teams faced the North Pocono Trojans for their final meet of the regular season.  Though it wasn’t going to be easy for either of them with North Pocono always being a formidable opponent.

The meet was a close one, especially for the boys as it came down to the very end. In the end the boys pulled it out by a score of 82-68. The girls gave themselves a little more breathing room with their final score being 91-59. It was an exciting way to end the regular season for both teams. Team captain Bryce Pagano said, “I feel like the teams hard work is paying off, every day we show up and just work as hard as we can, and it’s exciting to see when it shows.”

Though there is still a lot of the season for most of the team. Today the team’s runners will participate in the Jordan Relays while the throwers will be at the Jim Thorpe throwing invitational. This Sunday we will host the Last Chance meet, and this will be followed by the Robert Spagna Championship (Lackawanna League) on Tuesday. Finally, the following Monday and Tuesday will be the Districts Two meet for the team where many of our athletes will have a shot at making States. Captain Pagano said when talking about the upcoming meets, “I’m excited to see what we can do at Spagnas and Districts with all of our talent, there’s a lot of potential for great things.”
