Evan Downey will be heading to East Stroudsburg University to study Computer Science for the next four years. During his time at Wallenpaupack Area High School, Evan was actively involved in the Band and the Engineering CTE program, where he combined creativity with technology to make a lasting impact.
One of Evan’s proudest accomplishments is the creation of the WAHS Clock, a web-based program he developed to help students and teachers stay on top of the school’s varying bell schedules. Whether it’s an advisory period, Keystone testing day, or a 2-hour delay, the WAHS Clock provides a clear and easy way to stay on track. You can check out Evan’s impressive project here.
As he looks ahead, Evan knows he’ll miss many things about high school—especially the friendships he’s built and his experiences in band. Two teachers who made a significant impact on him are Mrs. Horvath, who brought fun and understanding to the classroom, and Mr. Warner, whose organization and leadership helped make band such a meaningful part of Evan’s high school experience.
