Every semester, students taking Science 9 are required to go on the lake trip. This past Wednesday, September 24, the students went on the lake trip. The trip, which was taken by around 110 students, had students going around to various places here and around the school. The students take a trip to the dam before the two-day trip. On this trip, the students learn about the history of the lake and dam.

The students also learn about the Lake Wallenpaupack Watershed Management District and what it does for our lake. They also learn about aquatic life in lakes, streams, and wetlands in a hands-on way. The goal of the trip is to teach students how vital Lake Wallenpaupack is to the environment and the community, and how to keep it so future generations can enjoy it. As said earlier the trip was supposed to be a two-day trip, but rain canceled the 2nd day of the trip, which is the first time a day of the trip has been canceled in a while. Overall, this trip is great in helping students understand why Lake Wallenpaupack and our environment is so important to keep healthy.
