This past week, our field hockey team faced three opponents, two of them were major matchups. Our girls started off the week on Tuesday, September 23, with a win against the Pittston Patriots; the score 3-0. On Thursday, September 25, they played an away game in inclement weather against the Dallas Mountaineers. Knowing a win would place them at the top of their conference rankings, the girls fought hard and pushed the game into overtime. Sadly, they fell short, losing 2-1.

Determined to bounce back from the tough loss, the team -looked for redemption the next day. On Friday, September 26, they took on the Honesdale Hornets—a non-conference opponent—in hopes of regaining momentum. Despite their efforts, our team struggled against the strong Hornets squad. A key injury to defender Addison Shiffler further weakened the team’s defense, contributing to a significant defeat of 0-6. Though these back-to-back losses were difficult, they serve as valuable learning experiences. With resilience and teamwork, our girls will come back stronger than ever.
