With such an impressive record this season, our girls’ field hockey team earned a spot in the playoffs! Just after their emotional yet exciting Senior Night, they faced the Dallas Mountaineers at Wilkes-Barre Area High School on Friday, October 17, competing for first place in their division. Knowing how important this game was—and having already played Dallas twice this season—the girls felt the pressure. Each team had previously claimed one victory, so Wallenpaupack was determined to come out on top this time. Despite their best efforts, however, the girls fell just short, suffering a tough 1-0 loss.

After a weekend of rest, the team took the field again on Monday, October 20, hoping to bounce back with a win against the Abington Comets. Playing on their home turf gave them a slight advantage, but the girls struggled to find their usual spark. A series of cards forced several players to shift positions, disrupting their rhythm. Despite fighting hard, Wallenpaupack could not recover and ultimately lost a close game, 1–2. Although the season ended sooner than  hoped, our players should be proud of their effort and dedication. Congratulations on a strong season, and best of luck in the years ahead!
