Wallenpaupack Students Looking on as Trevor Tochydlowski Plants a Pine Oak Tree
By: Sutton Rizzo
On October 16, new life was planted on Wallenpaupack’s campus. A pine oak tree was planted as part of a bigger project for the Wayne County Art Alliance. Along with Wallenpaupack, Western Wayne and Wayne Highlands are also involved in the project. The trees will be part of an exhibit at the WCAA Gallery, which is located at 959 Main Street in Honesdale. The third annual showing of this exhibit opens on March 7, 2026.
The tree was planted with the help of Trevor Tochydlowski, a forest specialist, and an ICA Certified Arborist with the Wayne Conservation District. Trevor spoke to students about the importance of not planting trees that are not native to the environment. Trevor then planted the tree and told students how to correctly care for the tree. The students then could either sketch or take pictures of the tree. Overall, this event is a fantastic way to make a difference and help our environment.
