It was a big week for the Lady Buckhorns, as they played two very tough teams. On Tuesday, December 9, they traveled to Crestwood to face the Lady Comets. They knew it was going to be a hard fight for both teams, so they battled as best they could. The junior varsity team came out strong and held the lead for the entire game. By the end of the fourth quarter, JV had won with an impressive score of 47–34; however, varsity did not have the same luck. They also came out strong, but the highly recruited Crestwood athletes took over on the court, resulting in a tough varsity loss of 68-23.

After these games, the team shifted its focus to their next opponent, Honesdale. They knew this would not be an easy game either. They faced their rivals on Friday, December 12, in a doubleheader broadcast on Blue Ridge Communications TV-13, with the boys’ game following the girls’. The JV team started the night, coming out hungry for a win; however, they did not show the same fire they displayed earlier in the week. Because of this, along with missing many free throws, the team lost to the Hornets by a narrow score of 21-20.

Next, the varsity girls took the court, and the gym was packed with excitement and energy. The starters were eager for a win, but like the junior varsity team, they just could not find their rhythm on offense. They worked hard, but it took too long to get going, while Honesdale came out strong right from the jump ball. Unfortunately, the night ended with yet another tough defeat, 42-31.
