Ashley DeJesus, a senior at Wallenpaupack, is known for her curiosity, positivity, and ability to juggle countless responsibilities and activities. In her free time, Ashley enjoys studying world geography, learning new facts, reading, and listening to music. Her love for learning and trying new things is reflected not only in her hobbies, but also in her deep involvement throughout the school community.
Ashley participates in a wide range of clubs and activities, including Science Olympiad, Scholastics, FCCLA, Yearbook Club, WAHS Players, VIP, and World Language Club. Among these, Science Olympiad stands out as one of her favorites because it allows her to explore STEM-related topics that truly interest her. She is also passionate about VIP, where she enjoys giving back to both her school and community, and WAHS Players, where she helps bring the school’s annual production to life. Being so involved has not always been easy, as Ashley admits that keeping up with all her activities can be challenging, but she takes pride in staying organized and pushing herself to stay involved.
After high school, Ashley plans to attend college, though she is still deciding where she would like to go. She hopes to pursue a career in mechanical engineering, a path inspired by her long interest in buildings, structures, and the environment. Through classes like chemistry, calculus, physics, and her experiences in Science Olympiad, she realized she wanted a versatile career within the STEM field that combined creativity and problem-solving.
Some of Ashley’s favorite memories at Wallenpaupack come from spending time with friends and teachers, who motivate her to keep coming to school each day. Looking ahead, she hopes to build a stable career in the city, create her own home, and eventually help with her uncle’s business. Ashley wants to be remembered as a positive, hardworking multitasker who is always smiling and thinking big.
