Recently, the swim team took a long journey to Elk Lake. As they get further into the season, records become harder to beat as times get faster. Despite this, at Elk Lake the team had a record high of PR’s (personal records). Many swimmers such as Anna Babyak in the 100 breaststroke gave Elk Lake’s swimmers a tough challenge. The boys’ team was successful in their efforts and beat Elk Lake by a score of 97-61. The girls were unable to do the same, and Elk Lake came out with the win by a score of 104-71. This week’s Cap of Fames were Anna Babyak, Michael Mancino, Alexis Lopes-Torres, and Joseph Ward.
Next, they had late meet at Scranton University that started at 7pm. Before the meet, they had their team dinner where each swimmer contributed either food, money, water, etc. This meet was unique because it as a tri-meet. This means that there are three teams competing at one time opposed to the normal two teams. These two teams were Scranton Prep and Dunmore High School. Because it being a tri-meet, Wallenpaupack got two lanes for each event. This makes getting every swimmer into an event almost impossible. The final score of this meet was Wallenpaupack winning against Dunmore by a score of 78-10 (girls) and 74-13 (boys) Scranton Prep did win against Paupack by a score of 66-28 (girls) and 54-40 (boys). The Cap of Fames for this meet were Maeve Creamer and Zach Eckes.
