On February 4, the Wallenpaupack high school opened its doors to the upcoming freshman class to take a tour of the CTE (Career and Technical Education) programs and pathways. The tour began at 6 pm where the eighth graders and their families watched a thirty-minute presentation of what courses, clubs, and programs the high school has to offer. After, families and students were able to explore the school and learn about the high school’s CTE programs. These are Childcare, Automotive Technology, Building Trades, Engineering, Allied Health, Exercise Science and Sports Medicine, Protective Services, Culinary Arts, and Aviation. Different pathways were also available to tour such as art, science, and news/television production. Each CTE and pathway was interactive, with candy, food, and even t-shirts being given out to the students. A few classrooms stood out with Aviation opening their flight simulator for families to fly in, and Engineering controlling a robotic dog. Overall, the night was a great success and continues to help the upcoming high schoolers find their future careers.
