Olympic Medals

The Olympics are a time when fantastic, dedicated athletes get a chance to showcase their talents to the world. Athletes train their whole lives to compete in their event(s). Despite individual events, there are teams that train together year-round to hopefully win a medal at the Olympics. The United States is known for producing world-class athletes, so let’s see what medals the US has won so far.

–       6 Gold

–       11 Silver

–       6 Bronze

Breezy Johnson earned a gold medal for Women’s Downhill (alpine skiing). Elizabeth Lemley earned gold in Women’s Moguls (freestyle skiing). Jordan Stolz earned a medal in Men’s 1000-meter Speed skating. And the duo Madison Chock and Evan Bates earned their gold in Figure Skating along with Team US who was able to just take the gold over Japan.

The US has most of their medals in silver with Chloe Kim earning one in Women’s Snowboarding Halfpipe. Jaelin Kauf earring hers in Women’s Moguls (freestyle skiing). And for men Ryan Cochran-Siegle winning his in Men’s Super-G (alpine skiing). Alex Hall won his silver in Men’s Freeski Slopestyle (freestyle skiing). And to wrap it up for men’s individual silver medals, Ben Ogden in Men’s Sprint Classic (Cross Country Skiing). Moving on to duos, Madison Chock and Evan Bates, who medaled in figure skating Ice Dance. Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin, another duo earned their medal in Mixed Doubles Curling. Cory and Korey earned the first medal for the US in Mixed Doubles Curling ever.

Lastly, the US had three bronze medals, two individuals and one team. Jessie Diggins earned hers in the Women’s 10km Interval Start Free (Cross-country skiing). Ashley Farquharson was the second individual to win silver. She earned hers in Women’s Singles (Luge). And the team earring bronze was Jacqueline Wiles and Paula Moltzan in Women’s Team Combined (Alpine Skiing)

All these medals so far and the Olympics are still in full swing. The upcoming days are looking pleasant for the US. Be sure to follow along as the events are being streamed on many platforms.
