The Polar Promenade, held on January 25, 2025, in the Wallenpaupack Area High School Cafeteria, was Wallenpaupack Area’s Community Service project and a testament to the dedication of our FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter members. As a Chapter Project, this event required the full participation of the chapter, making it a collaborative effort from start to finish.
The planning process began months in advance, with student members taking responsibility for various aspects of the event. Fundraising and securing support from local businesses were crucial steps, as their generous donations helped make the event a success. Members also handled logistics such as organizing the venue, coordinating volunteers, and promoting the event to ensure a great turnout.
On the day of the Polar Promenade, students assisted with set-up, served community members, and managed clean-up, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for the nearly 100 senior citizens in attendance. The evening featured a delightful dinner, dancing, and a basket raffle, all offered at no cost to guests.
Following the event, competitors documented the entire process in a 17-page report. If selected among the top 15 projects in the state, members will advance to the state competition in April, where they will present their project to a panel of judges. This marks the third annual Polar Promenade, a tradition that continues to foster community engagement and service, showcasing the commitment of our chapter members to making a difference.
