HOSA week just finished at Wallenpaupack Area High School. HOSA, a program created for students who are interested in the health and medical field, held its annual HOSA week. HOSA week was created to celebrate the members, chapters, health care careers, and leadership in the health science field. “It is a time to celebrate everything that makes HOSA special–leadership, community, service, and learning. It is not just about fun activities; it is about recognizing the dedication of students who are passionate about healthcare and helping others,” said Adria Malinchak, a senior and the president of HOSA, “It gives us the chance to recognize our students’ dedication and celebrate their achievements.”
Other than HOSA week, the group does a variety of events for their participants. The program recently created a small student ran monthly activity called “allied workshops.” The workshop is held once a month so that the members can learn a wider set of medical skills to use in the future. Students who wish to join HOSA can stop by room 260 and speak to Mrs. Elders.
