AP Literature and Composition just finished making gingerbread houses. Recently, the AP Literature and Composition students had to make a creative project, and their goal was to bring their literature stories to life by making gingerbread houses inspired by the major literary movements. The houses represented Romanticism, Gothicism, Magical Realism, Realism, Modernism, Postmodernism, and the Harlem Renaissance. The groups used frosting colors to help set the tone. The meaning of the project was to help encourage thinking critically about literature in a hands-on way. This project showed the students that you can learn in a way that is meaningful and fun, if you put your mind to it.
