Wrestling Senior Night took place Tuesday, February 6, in the high school gymnasium to honor their teams’ graduates. Seniors Gunnar Myers, Hawkeye Rollison, and Jimmy Kellog have been anchors on the varsity and junior varsity teams in high school.
Gunnar has been advancing during each of his four seasons and may earn many school records for the team. At districts, he should receive the school record for most wins, 139, and the season record of pins, 32. After he graduates, he is already committed to Northwestern University on a scholarship for wrestling. Coach Krushnowski relays that over the past four years, “He has been one of our best wrestlers.”
Hawkeye has wrestled at both the varsity and junior varsity level. “He is a leader,” said Coach Krushnowski.
Hawkeye always steps up to assist the team, whether it be with working with the younger kids or setting up for tournaments. The coach also mentioned that he does an amazing job whilecompeting at the junior varsity level.
Finally, there is senior Jimmy Kellog who only started wrestling this year. He has been a reliable player, and an amazing anchor for the junior varsity team even as a newer player. “He does exactly what we need,” said Coach Krushnowski.
