Buckhorn Boys XC Lead the Pack
By: Bethany Day
On Tuesday, September 30, the cross-country team traveled to North Pocono to race against the opposing cluster of Abington Heights, Valley View, and North Pocono. The team has been having a good season this year, with them working hard and succeeding on and off the course. The team had certain goals that they had to achieve against the extreme cluster. The main goal for the boys was to beat Abington Heights, which is a competitive team to face. The girls’ goal was to keep up with Valley View, another forceful team that the girls had faced previously last year.
The race started strong, as they worked their way up the charts against the difficult cluster. With the weather being the nicest it has been, and the temperature being exactly right, the team was ready. The runners put in the work, and at the end, the training paid off. The boys won against all three opposing clusters, beating Abington Heights by a score of 22 to 35. The girls raced hard but sadly lost by a score of 22 to 33.
