The Homecoming Week

By: Bethany Day

Homecoming week is being celebrated this week! During the first two months of school, the Student Council works hard on one of the biggest events of the school year. Homecoming holds a special place in the hearts of Wallenpaupack. It is a time of year when the school gets together to celebrate with a spirit week, a dance, and a community event: the football game. This year, the football team is going against Abington Heights, a strong school with a competitive team to follow. The Bucks will be ready for them.

Spirit week this year has a list of eventful days and changes from the classic. Monday was Music Monday, where you wear your favorite band or artist shirt. Tuesday was All About That Age, where the sixth and ninth graders dressed as babies, seventh and tenth graders are toddlers, eighth and eleventh graders are adults, and teachers along with twelfth graders are senior citizens. Wednesday was Pink Out, a reference to Mean Girls. Thursday is Throwback Thursday; where the students dress through the decades. Friday is the main event, where the whole district wears the classic Purple and White to show school pride.

The Homecoming dance will be on Saturday, October 11, from 6 to 9 pm in the main gym at the high school. This year has an amazing homecoming court, which will be announced at the game on Friday. The court consists of Diego Adames, Mayah Boogertman, Luciana Babyak, Bethany Day, Nathan Freethy, Evan Huber, Genevieve Neenan, AnnaLee Protasiewicz, Hunter Sasala, and Ivy Yetter. We wish the court the best of luck. We cannot wait for the game on October 10. Go Bucks!
