Wallenpaupack Area High School Welcomes New National Honor Society Members

On Wednesday, October 2, Wallenpaupack Area High School held its Fall 2025 National Honor Society Induction Ceremony, honoring students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

The ceremony opened with a welcome message from Dr. Caruso and remarks from Laura Posdon, who led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. Posdon reminded attendees that the National Honor Society represents the highest standards of academic achievement, integrity, and service.

The evening’s keynote speaker was Kate Bryant, President and CEO of Honesdale National Bank and the first female bank president in Wayne County. Bryant spoke about the importance of leadership and community involvement, encouraging students to continue making a difference beyond the classroom.

Following her speech, Victoria Latek spoke about the long-standing tradition of the Wallenpaupack chapter, established in 1966, and the four guiding pillars of the National Honor Society — scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

This year’s inductees were then recognized for their outstanding accomplishments and commitment to these ideals.

New members of the Wallenpaupack Area High School Chapter of the National Honor Society include:
Reagan Anderson, Reilly Buselli, Sarah Cardiello, Benjamin Cumberland, Molly Cunningham, Hannah Daidone, Emory Dawe, Dylan Duggan, Natalie George, Cameron Gyurkovic, Arianna Harms, George Harrison, Maya Hirzallah, Ava Hoffmann, Thomas Kiersted, Grace Lake, Samantha Lauersen, Essylt Logan, Jenna Malti, Hailey McGarry, Gregory Nalesnik, Savannah O’Fee, Leah Ringus, Sutton Rizzo, Fiona Shanaberger, Reagan Shepard, Christopher Smith, Ivah Sweller, Carlos Urgiles, James Viarengo, Isabella Voto, Maya Walek, Joseph Ward, Emma Waszczak, and Isabelle Wisner.

After the new members signed the official chapter register and received their membership tokens, they recited the National Honor Society pledge, led by Jewel Dickerman, affirming their commitment to uphold the organization’s high standards.

Dr. Caruso concluded the ceremony by congratulating the inductees and thanking families, faculty, and staff for supporting the students’ achievements.

The event served as a proud celebration of academic excellence and character at Wallenpaupack Area High School, honoring students who continue to lead by example in their school and community.
