Our girls field hockey team had a full week last week. On Tuesday, October 7, they played the Holy Redeemer Royals on their home field. To raise awareness for breast cancer, they sprayed their hair pink and wore pink ribbons, which was fitting for the “Pink Out” theme. Taking this positive mentality onto the field, the Lady Bucks won 7-0.

They then traveled to Nanticoke High School on Thursday, October 9, to claim yet another shutout against the Trojans. The girls worked hard and put up a tough fight, ending in a 3-0 win.

On Friday, October 10, our pep rally was held for the district, and our girls chose 10 representatives to put on a skit to demonstrate how field hockey works. Goalie and captain Ziomara Gilmore tried the forward line during this skit and scored a goal for the purple team, offering a fun and exciting preview of the sport. Hopefully, this week’s positivity carries over to next week’s busy schedule, and our field hockey team continues its impressive season.
