Wallenpaupack Area High School (WAHS) is excited to host its College/Career & Military Fair this Thursday, October 17, for the Class of 2025. Building on the success of last year’s College Fair, the event has expanded to include not only colleges and trade schools but also local employers and military branches, reflecting the diverse paths students will take after graduation.
This year, WAHS has partnered with Rep Visits, a platform for college admissions representatives, to manage attendance. As of now, 40 universities, colleges, community colleges, and trade schools are confirmed to participate. In addition, 10 local businesses and all branches of the military will be present, offering opportunities for seniors planning to enter the workforce or military service directly after high school.
To streamline the experience, the school will use Strive Scan, an app that allows students to share their demographic information with school representatives via a barcode. This replaces the traditional practice of filling out contact cards at every booth, making the networking process faster and more efficient.
The Fair will take place in the main gym, with seniors divided into two groups, each having an hour to interact with representatives. In addition, the event will replace previous small group and lunchtime visits, which were less efficient, and discussions will begin for an upcoming Instant Decision Day scheduled for early December.
