Buckhorn Aiden Janowicz has a huge lead while beating the Delaware Valley Course Record

This year, the WAHS Cross Country team has been, “dominating the Lackawanna League this season,” as Coach Steven Brown relayed to me. Both the girls’ and boys’ team have been stacking up records, with the boys’ team even having an impressive, undefeated record of 20-0 and the girls’ team following close with an 18-2 record. In their last race, against Abington Heights, on Tuesday, October 8, the boys grabbed the AAA Lackawanna League title, and the girls placed second in AA standings.
Upcoming, the boys and girls will be competing for a district title on October 23. There is also a chance that the girls and Boys will get the chance to represent Wallenpaupack at the State Championship in Hershey.
Coach Brown told me that all the runners have been running very well with the girls, “running personal best times,” and the boys are, “continuing to build momentum.” Another detail he mentioned to me was that Aiden Janowicz recently shattered the Delaware Valley Course Record time in 15:52, which also was the second fastest run time by anyone in the league for this season. We are so proud of the cross country team and cannot wait to see them finish out their season strong.
