Bethany Day, a senior at Wallenpaupack, is a student who embodies hard work, kindness, and dedication. She’s actively involved in many activities, including theatre’s run crew, cross country, track, executive student council, and as Paupack Press’s co-editor.
For Bethany, each activity holds a special place for respective reasons. In cross country and track, she appreciates her teammates and the friendships she’s built with them. With theatre, she enjoys being part of the run crew, where she gets to see productions come together from behind the scenes. Paupack Press allows her passion for writing to come through. In student council, she enjoys planning events like homecoming, helping run the school’s Instagram page, and creating moments that make her classmates happy. While managing all of these commitments can be stressful, Bethany finds the challenge rewarding and takes pride in seeing the results of her hard work.
Bethany’s passion for communication has also shaped her future. She hopes to major in communications and minor in journalism, pursuing a career in the news field. Her love for music and an internship with Bold Gold Media sparked a strong interest in radio, and she dreams of becoming a radio DJ or host. This passion has only grown stronger through her high school experiences, particularly with Paupack Press.
Some of Bethany’s favorite memories from Wallenpaupack come from her time in her clubs. She specifically recalls the 2024 Hershey Invitational for cross country as one of the tougher races she has run, but what made it unforgettable was the fun she shared with her teammates afterward and the long ride home. She also fondly remembers her early experiences with Paupack Press and the time she spent bonding with the group.
Her goals for the rest of senior year include maintaining strong grades, earning acceptance into her college choices, leaving a positive impact on those around her, and making more good memories than bad. Looking further into the future, Bethany hopes to establish a stable career in radio or another field she enjoys while living a happy, fulfilling life surrounded by people who matter most to her.
Bethany is most proud of the people around her and she will be remembered by others as a leader, a friend, and a dedicated student who gave her all in everything she pursued. She believes that the people you’re around will make an experience you may not enjoy a lot better, and she’s excited to pass the torch over to others as she graduates.
