Abigail Cykosky, a senior at Wallenpaupack, is best known for her friendly personality and sense of humor. She enjoys spending her free time with friends and family, reading, and baking. At school, she keeps herself involved as a student-athlete, class officer, and a member of HOSA.
Abigail plays tennis in the fall and basketball in the winter, and each sport holds a special place in her life. Tennis has been a highlight of her high school years; not only for the excitement of match days and the time she spends with teammates, but also for the support of her coaches, Mrs. Wentzell and Mr. Doty, and the Sheetz runs after away matches.
Basketball, on the other hand, is something Abigail grew up with. Through AAU and school teams, she’s met new people, played under different coaches, and built lasting memories through the sport that has always been part of her life.
Academically, Abigail has always enjoyed her science classes, especially biology, anatomy and physiology, and Exercise Science and Sports Medicine (ESSM). These classes helped her realize her passion for the medical field, and she now plans to attend college or university with the goal of becoming a physician’s assistant. While academics came naturally to her throughout high school, she faced the challenge of managing her perfectionism and tendency to take on too much at once. Even so, she’s proud of herself for consistently pushing through and succeeding.
Abigail is most proud of her accomplishments in sports, knowing how much time and effort she’s poured into practices, games, and improving her skill set overall. Earning varsity spots in both tennis and basketball has proven to her that hard work does truly pay off. Some of her favorite high school memories include participating in the triathlon, the powder puff game, and attending various school events with her friends.
Looking ahead, Abigail’s goal is to graduate before moving forward into a successful career while eventually finding time to travel and explore new places. She hopes to be remembered as someone who was always friendly, humorous, and conscientious.
