On Thursday, December 4, three – ninth grade students traveled to North Pocono School District to participate in a STEM Day. The three students who went were Jason Austin, Evan Guccini, and Mason Zoccola. At this event, the Paupack students got to meet with eighth grade gifted students from North Pocono. Before this event, the two groups of students had connected via Zoom to organize the event and to create STEM challenges. These STEM challenges and games were created for both Wallenpaupack and North Pocono’s intermediate school gifted students. The challenges included a Breakout EDU that is science themed, Jeopardy with categories that include science, technology, engineering, and math. Other challenges were a math contest and a coding competition. These trips are great learning opportunities for students and create many different perspectives for each student.
