Although it is Christmas season, we shouldn’t forget about the other holidays this month. Did you know that Hannukah was this past Monday? Most people have heard of Hannukah, but here are some facts you might not know about it:
· In addition to its spiritual and religious celebrations, Hanukkah celebrates a Jewish military victory.
· The first president to celebrate Hanukkah at the White House was Harry Truman.
· There is no spelling of Hanukkah that is deemed to be the “correct” spelling because there is no direct translation from the Hebrew word for Hanukkah to English.
· New York holds the biggest menorah in the world.
· Hanukkah does not always occur on the same days every year.
