Samuel Urevich

The world needs doctors. Samuel “Sam” Urevich, a senior at Wallenpaupack, recognized that since he was a child. Sam has been a part of the school district since his eighth-grade year and has been incredibly involved since the start. His first activities were being a student ambassador, where he discovered how much he enjoyed working with people, and Volunteers in Paupack (VIP). Sam then started to get involved with HOSA, Health Occupations Students of America, his sophomore year, where he learned teamwork and what he wanted his career to be. Sam has also been a participant in the National Honor Society, where he is on the executive council since his sophomore year.

Sam spent a long time looking at colleges that gave a good health care program. However, he recently made his commitment to Penn State University, and plans to major in Biology, which he is extremely excited about. After college, he wants to be an orthopedic surgeon or go into pediatrics. “I want to work with people.” Sam said.

With the help of the Allied Health CTE, and HOSA, Sam became certain that those are the career paths that he wants to pursue in.

Sam has a lot of memories here at Wallenpaupack, but he certainly has a lot of favorites. One of his favorites is going to Disney, but specifically when he got to walk with his friends around Hollywood Studios, and going on the Guardians of the Galaxy ride. Outside of Disney, he really enjoyed doing the clinical with Allied Health. Sam would like to thank many people, but specifically Mrs. Elders, where he appreciates everything she has done for him during his school years. He would also like to thank Mrs. Fives, for being a great biology teacher, Mr. Granquist, for helping him with math, and Mrs. Saylor and Mrs. Gilson, for helping him as a person. We cannot wait to see what Sam does with his talents in the future.
