The Winter Olympic Facts

                  Every four years, athletes from all over the world come together and compete for something great. Many enjoyable events happen during the summer and Winter Olympics. This year, the Winter Olympics are held in Milan and Cortina, Italy. So, with the Olympics being more than half-way completed, we are here to learn five new fun facts about this amazing event!

Fact one: The first Winter Olympics started in 1924, where it was in Chamonix, France. The first Olympics helped 258 athletes from 16 nations. Meaning it has been over 100 years since the event was created.

Fact two: The Winter Olympics take place two years after the Summer Olympics, so make sure you catch up with all sports!

Fact three: Figure skating and ice hockey were originally a part of the Summer Olympics before Winter was created.

Fact four: Norway is in the lead when it comes to medals, as they have a count of 406. They could still possibly have more as the future continues.

Fact five: As of 2026, this is the first year where the Winter Olympics is being co-held!

                  We cannot wait to see what the future holds with the Winter Olympics. However, let us just say that we cannot wait to what history changes, and who brings home the gold.
