The United States showed how hard work pays off this season, winning 33 total medals across all winter sports. Here are the medals the United States has earned this winter Olympics.

–       12 Gold

–       12 Silver

–       9 Bronze

The country with the most total medals, Norway, had a count of 41. The US is in second place with their 33 medals and Italy is close behind with 30 medals.

The US’s 12th gold medal was a record for them compared to their prior record of 11 gold medals during one Olympics. This 12th gold medal was won with the Men’s Ice Hockey Team in overtime against Canada. Jack Hughes scored the game-winner 1:41 into overtime and made the final score 2-1.

The 12 gold medals were given to Breezy Johnson for Women’s downhill (alpine skiing), Mixed team figure skating, Elizabeth Lemley for Women’s Moguls (freestyle skiing), Jordan Stolz for men’s 1000m (speed skating) and men’s 500m (speed skating), Elana Meyers Taylor for women’s Monobob (Bobsled), Mikaela Shiffrin for women’s Slalom (alpine skiing), Women’s Ice Hockey Team, Alysa Liu for Women’s singles (figure skating), Alex Ferreira for men’s halfpipe (freestyle skiing), Mixed team aerials (Freestyle skiing), and finally the Mens Ice Hockey Team.

With all the success, the US felt proud heading into the closing ceremony. The closing ceremony was held at Verona Arena and was themed “Beauty in Action.” The closing ceremony celebrated Italian art, culture, and the spirit of global unity. At the conclusion of the ceremony there was the traditional Parade of Athletes where athletes got to participate in a parade and forget the pressure they faced during competition. They get to take in the last moments of the Winter Olympics while celebrating their own accomplishments.
