This past Friday and Saturday the swim team traveled to the Wilkes Barre CYC to compete in districts. The swim team had 35 swimmers qualify for districts this year, a larger number than most opposing schools. Paupack’s hard work showed in multiple team events such as the women’s 200 medley relay team, who placed 4th and medaled. This relay team consisted of Zoee Stuckey, Anna Babyak, Samira Feller, and Annalee Protasiewicz. The men’s 200 medley relay also found success, placing 5th and medaling. This relay team consisted of Tucker Kinney, Jasper Hathaway, Jacob Eckes, and Christopher Peet. Also, the women’s 200 freestyle relay placed 5th, medaling. This relay team consisted of Annalee Protasiewicz, Alexa Laing, Zoee Stuckey, and Samira Feller.

Besides relay teams, there were many individual swimmers who earned a medal. Zoee Stuckey swam in the 200 freestyle and placed 5th overall, medaling. Samira Feller placed 4th in the 200 individual medley. Annalee Protasiewicz placed 4th in the 50 freestyle. Samira also medaled in the 500 freestyle, placing 5th. Zoee Stuckey medaled again this time in the 100 backstroke, placing 5th.

Besides medaling, many swimmers beat their personal best times and had their own achievements. This team shows what it is supposed to look like when each swimmer supports each other, and it shows what success can look like when you work together towards a common goal. This dynamic starts with their four coaches, Coach Campbell, Coach Kotcho, Coach Vargo, and Coach Parkes. This strong team, oriented to help each other, wouldn’t be possible without these four strong coaches who always set the example, and always give their swimmers confidence. Overall, the swim team had an amazing season, and the team is already looking forward to next year and the success they hope it will bring!
