Prom dresses galore! On Friday, March 6, and on Saturday, March 7, Operation Prom was held at the Wallenpaupack Area High School. Operation Prom was bought to the high school by Amelia Porcelli, Mayah Boogertman, and Jessieann Gallagher. The organization was created for students who are less fortunate to have the opportunity to feel amazing on their prom night and not have to spend money on expensive dresses and tuxedos. The event had multiple types of formal wear, including shoes, jewelry, and ties.
Many students came to the operation and left feeling joyful to be given the choice to try on beautiful dresses. Jessieann Gallagher, a co-founder of Wallenpaupack Operation Prom, stated, “I love seeing the happiness on their faces.” When asked what she loved about doing this special event.
On Saturday, it was open to the public, with people having the opportunity to see what the operation had to offer. Many came and grabbed their dream dresses and other items, all leaving with smiles on their faces. We thank the co-founders of Wallenpaupack’s Operation Prom for giving the community an event like this.
