If you are looking for a rich, easy, chocolate dessert, look no further. Here is a recipe for a seven-ingredient chocolate torte (flourless cake) that takes 25 minutes to prepare. It is a delicious and surprisingly simple treat to put together.
Ingredients:
· 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
· 8 Tbsp. unsalted butter, cut into pieces and room temperature
· 1 tsp. espresso powder or ground espresso
· 6 large eggs
· ½ cup granulated sugar
· ¼ tsp. salt
· ½ cup heavy cream
Step 1:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9-inch springform pan with butter and line the bottom with a 9-inch circle of parchment paper. Set aside.
Step 2:
Combine chocolate, butter, and espresso powder over a double boiler. Stir together until fully melted and incorporated. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 3:
With the whip attachment on a stand mixer, whip together eggs, sugar, and salt on medium-high until quadrupled in volume, about 7 minutes.
Step 4:
Transfer egg mixture to a large mixing bowl. Add chocolate mixture gradually, stirring continuously. Mix until fully combined.
Step 5:
In stand mixer, beat cream to medium peaks (Note: there is no need to clean the whisk attachment and bowl from the egg mixture). Mix whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
Step 6:
Bake the torte. Carefully transfer the batter to the prepared pan. Bake until the surface does not move when shaken, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 40 to 45 minutes. Allow to cool completely before removing from springform pan. Cut and enjoy!
