This week, the Paupack Press would like to feature a dedicated student athlete who is a leader throughout the school. Sarah Decker is not only an extremely talented athlete but a driven student, achieving high honor roll for all of her four years. She is also a member of HOSA, SADD, and NHS. Within HOSA, Sarah serves as the secretary.
Sarah shows obvious dedication to her own performance but also her team, serving as captain for the varsity soccer, basketball, and softball teams. Along with her sports, Sarah enjoys both coaching and refereeing youth soccer and basketball games.
Outside of school, Sarah spends her free time with friends, shopping, baking, hiking, and traveling. She also competed on travel teams for all three of her sports. Right now, she competes in travel softball and plays with NEPA Wolfpack.
Within the school, Sarah takes pride in her academic standing and is proud of her achievement of being named Exceptional Senior by the school board for the month of February. Most of all, she enjoys her writing/literature class. After high school, Sarah plans to attend a 4-year college to pursue a degree in nursing. For her career, she plans to become a pediatric nurse.
