Dedication is key. Amelia Porcelli, a senior at Wallenpaupack Area High School, has understood that key phrase since the start of her high school career. Throughout high school and her community, Amelia is known for her hard-working personality, and her passion to every club and activity she is and has been involved with. However, in her eyes, Amelia was not always like that. She thought she was an introvert when she first joined the school district for her eighth-grade year, and she decided she wanted to change that going into high school.
She joined the Wallenpaupack ambassadors for her freshmen year, along with National Honor Society and FBLA. “It changed my life,” Amelia said when she was speaking about how the clubs affected her during freshmen year.
She was a part of the tennis team for her freshmen and sophomore years. She joined VIP during her senior year and was also a founder of bringing Operation Prom to Wallenpaupack. In her free time, Amelia does yoga teacher training, where she will be one of the youngest yoga teachers in the state.
One of Amelia’s top schools is FIT, Fashion Institute of Technology, where she will get her decision during the first week of April. She plans to be studying Advertising and Marketing, or either Communications. “I like to have a creative aspect, so I think advertising and marketing would be something I would be having fun in.” Amelia said as she explained why she chose those two majors.
After college, she plans to work in an environment where she can let her creativity flow.
Amelia has many enjoyable memories of her high school career, but one that constantly sticks out to her is her California trip with FBLA. She went with her two best friends and had so much fun hanging out with everyone. Amelia has many people she would like to thank, but she personally wants to thank Mr. Winagle and Mrs. Monty, who always answers her questions, Mrs. Mitschele, who always gives her the best opinions, and her sister, Victoria, who always makes her laugh. We wish Amelia the best of luck in the future and cannot wait to see what her future holds.
