On March 26, the Allied Health program hosted Sa Bom Nim, or master instructor, Aaron J. Turner for a self-defense class. He is the head martial arts instructor at Tiger Karate. He taught the seniors in the program how to protect themselves when working in different healthcare settings. He taught them spatial awareness and how to assess the energy between the patient and caregiver to provide the best experience for both. Senior Sam Urevich said, “It was a valuable experience to have, and I definitely think the things we learned will be helpful once we enter the [medical] field.”
Each student in the class walked away having learned important lessons that they will undoubtedly take with them into their future careers.
