On Tuesday, April 28th, Wallenpaupack’s Unified team traveled to Abington Heights for a meet that did not count toward either team’s regional qualification. However, after losing to Abington earlier in the season, the team was determined to come away with a win.
Things started off strong in the 100m, 400m, and 800m races, as Wallenpaupack built a wide point gap. The team maintained its momentum throughout the rest of the meet and ultimately defeated Abington Heights, 243–152.
With the win behind them, the team now looks ahead to the rest of the season. They have qualified for the league meet, which will be held at Wallenpaupack on May 14th, as well as for regionals on May 6th. This means that the team still has a chance to make it to states if they place first or second in the regional meet and the season is still far from over.
