Young Bucks Wrestling Camp Returns for the Summer

By: Kody Hanor

Wallenpaupack wrestling is at the ready for another exciting summer with the return of the Young Bucks Wrestling Camp. Now in its third year, the weeklong clinic continues to provide a valuable opportunity for student-athletes grades 6–12, both male and female, to grow both their skills and passion for the sport.

The camp focuses on developing wrestlers by bringing in high-level talent from across the country. In previous years, participants have had the chance to learn from olympic-level wrestlers, college coaches, and NCAA medalists. These experiences will not only help athletes improve but also allow them to connect with some of the best in the sport but build connections within the sport.

This summer’s lineup is just as impressive. Athletes will train with Kyle Davis, a Valley View alum and current District 2 referee, as well as Aaron Kennedy, a Honesdale graduate who’s gone on to become a professional MMA fighter. In addition, organizers are working to bring in a well-known collegiate women’s wrestling coach, which would provide a unique and inspiring opportunity— especially for members of the girls wrestling team, to learn from a female leader competing at one of the highest levels.

The camp will run from Monday, July 6 to Friday, July 10, between the hours of  9 am to 12 pm each day in the high school main gymnasium.

The cost is $100, which includes a camp t-shirt.

Students interested in participating can contact Coach Carroll at [email protected] or scan the QR code found on flyers placed around the school.
