Adam Eisenhauer is a hardworking senior at Wallenpaupack Area High School who lives by several personal mottos, one of which is that “everything happens for a reason.” As he reflects on his high school experience, Adam says it feels almost unreal to have finally reached his senior year. “These last four years have flown by,” he says, explaining how strange it is to realize just how much time has passed since he first walked into high school as a freshman.
For Adam, reaching senior year has brought a greater sense of respect, comfort, and freedom, making it an especially enjoyable time in his high school career. Looking back on the person he was as a freshman, he recognizes how much he has grown, particularly in learning not to let other people’s opinions define him. He sums up this lesson with a simple but meaningful reminder: “If you care what people think about you, you’re living the life they want you to rather than the life you want you to.”
If he could offer his freshman-year self a piece of advice, Adam would remind himself that everything works out in the end. He would also reassure himself that the friendships he values so much would last throughout high school. Grateful that his close-knit group of friends has stayed together, Adam appreciates the bond they have built through their shared adventures, experiences, and memories. Knowing that these friendships have remained strong is one of the things he is happiest to look back on as graduation approaches.
When asked what message he would want to leave behind at Wallenpaupack, Adam chose the phrase “forgive and forget.” Drawing from his own experiences, he believes that learning to let go of past disagreements and frustrations can make life easier and more enjoyable. Rather than carrying unnecessary negativity, he encourages others to move forward, release what weighs them down, and make room for happiness.
As graduation draws closer, Adam is preparing for an exciting new chapter. After high school, he hopes to pursue a career in aerospace propulsion through the Air Force. He has already taken a step toward that goal by attending the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and looks forward to seeing where this path takes him. No matter what the future holds, Adam continues to stand by the motto that has guided him throughout high school: everything happens for a reason.
We wish Adam the best of luck as he begins this next chapter and pursues his bright future!
