The Buckhorns played a hard-fought game against the North Pocono Trojans, but once again could not get the win. Before this game, the Buckhorns had a loss to Scranton Prep thirty-five to nothing, which was not the best display of how good the Buckhorns can really play. On the other hand, North Pocono won their last game against Delaware Valley. In North Pocono’s game against Scranton Prep they also lost but only by one in overtime. To start the game, North Pocono scored the first points of the night, with a two-yard touchdown from Henry Wolff. The Buckhorns were not willing to accept defeat as they responded with a touchdown of their own before the end of the first quarter. Ed Kiesendahl scored the Buckhorns first points to tie the game seven to seven. In the second quarter, North Pocono scored again with a touchdown from Chase Zimmerman. This gave North Pocono a fourteen- to seven lead at halftime.
Coming out of the halftime break, neither North Pocono nor Wallenpaupack were able to connect leading to a scoreless third quarter. Early in the fourth quarter, Zimmerman scored another touchdown with just under twelve minutes left to play. The Trojans scored again later in the fourth quarter, making the score twenty-eight to seven. The Buckhorns, looking to make a comeback, scored again late in the game with only about a minute and a half left. Ryan Vargo caught a pass from Sam Kiesendahl and ran in for a touchdown to finish this one. Wallenpaupack made a great effort trying to come back against the now 8-1 Trojans but could not secure the win. The Buckhorns play Valley View in their next game to hopefully break their three-game losing streak.
