Silvia Cremona, a senior at Wallenpaupack Area High School, is an involved student who values kindness, friendship, and helping others. She participates in several programs, including Swim, Volunteers in Paupack, Paupack Press, National Honor Society (NHS), and the Childcare Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. Outside of school, Silvia enjoys reading, listening to music, taking walks, and cooking.
Among her activities, swim is one of Silvia’s favorites. Over the years, she has seen significant progress in her abilities which makes the sport feel rewarding. She also enjoys attending practices and meets alongside her teammates, appreciating the time spent together and the experiences they share. In addition to swimming, Silvia values participating in after-school clubs and volunteering with her friends, which have provided her with some of her favorite memories at Wallenpaupack.
After graduation, Silvia hopes to attend the University of Pittsburgh and pursue a major in occupational therapy. She aspires to become a pediatric occupational therapist, a career that would allow her to work with children and support their development. Her interest in the field began during her junior year, when she participated in a job shadow with a pediatric occupational therapist. Through the experience, she learned about different types of therapy and how they can help children develop important skills. The opportunity sparked her interest in pursuing the profession.
Silvia’s involvement in Wallenpaupack’s Childcare CTE program has further strengthened her interest in working with children. Through the program, she has gained experience that she hopes to build upon in her future career. She is excited about the possibility of specializing in pediatrics and developing the skills needed to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives.
Throughout high school, Silvia has maintained a strong academic record, earning high honor roll recognition all three years. As she finishes her senior year, she hopes to maintain her grades and GPA while earning scholarships to help cover her college tuition.
Looking ahead, Silvia envisions herself living in a city in Florida, working in her dream career, and earning a stable salary. She hopes to gain extensive experience in her field and develop confidence in her ability to help children. Ultimately, Silvia wants to be remembered as someone who is kind and makes others feel welcome, reflecting the positive impact she hopes to have on the people around her.
