The annual Hawley Winterfest will be held on December 8 -10 this year in the greater downtown Hawley area. This festive event has been running for quite a while dating back to 1999! That means this year marks the 24th anniversary of this holiday starter.
There is quite the excitement as the locals bustle about shopping and watching the parade. There is no doubt that there is plenty to do during this weekend event.
This year a new addition has been added! The Paupack Press will be running a bake sale consisting of homemade baked goods on Saturday. The treats will be crafted by the students who run The Paupack Press.
Additionally, we (The Paupack Press) will also be running the stand along with fellow VIP members. The goal of this fundraiser is to raise money for jackets for members of The Paupack Press to use when reporting on school-related events. When our reporters wear the jackets, the public will easily identify who we are and why we are at the event.
Our members have a passion for journalism and for learning the craft, and the jackets will help us to focus on our assignments.
The staff of The Paupack Press and I are looking forward to seeing you at the Hawley Winterfest this weekend.
