Environmental Book Swap Encourages Sustainability Within the Community

On September 13 and 14, the Environmental Book Swap was held at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. This is an event aimed at both promoting reading and sustainability. Sponsored by SEEDS (Sustainable Energy Education and Development Support), the swap gave members of the community the chance to recycle their old books and pick up new ones for free.

Members of Wallenpaupack Area High School’s Environmental Club assisted with preparations on September 11 by organizing and sorting donations to ensure a smooth event would occur.

By keeping books in circulation rather than letting them go to waste, the event highlighted SEEDS’ mission of reducing waste and building connections within the community.

The two-day book swap brought together families, students, avid readers, and in between, proving how sustainability and reading can come together as one.
