The Paupack track team dominated Western Wayne recently at home. On Wednesday, April 8, the Buckhorn track team ran their first home race of the season against Western Wayne, a competitive team that shows consistency with their running over the past year. The race was originally April 7, but was moved due to the chilly weather, so the track team had the opportunity to race with the Unified Track team the next day. This race was a great chance for everyone to prove themselves, and with how warm it was on race day, it was the best chance given to the buckhorns.

The boys team raced consistently, pulling many of our Wallenpaupack runners into the top three for many of the events. The Western Wayne boys got the team in a few of the racing spots, but at the end of the race, the buckhorn boys won with a dominant score of 113- 32. The lady Buckhorns had a similar scenario on race day. They gained many top spots in the distance events, with the Western Wayne girls only being able to sneak in the top spots in the 100 sprinting and throwing. The girls were able to pull their weight through, to the point where the last event was cancelled because of the score and had an impressive score of 96 to 49 at the end of the night.

The race was proven to be a challenge on paper, but at the end of the day, our track crew was determined and excited. The next race will be on Wednesday, April 15, at the Wallenpaupack track.
