Student of the Week: Thomas Kiersted

By: Reilly Buselli

As June nears, Thomas Kiersted is looking toward his future with excitement. Thomas has been a student at Wallenpaupack since he was in kindergarten. He is a member of the baseball team, National Honor Society, and the culinary program where he plans to minor in the culinary arts.

In his free time, Thomas lifts weights, hangs out with his friends, and helps little league players in the area with their baseball skills. He enjoys volunteering and watching the next generation of baseball players have fun and continue to improve.

Thomas would like to thank Coach Lenz and Coach McGinnis for guiding him through his four years of high school and always having faith in him. He would also like to thank Coach Doty for coaching him since he was a little kid and getting him to where he is today. Thomas’ biggest inspiration has been his dad. His dad taught him to always strive to be better and be the best version of himself.

As his years at Wallenpaupack come to a close, Thomas is ready to take all the lessons he has learned with him into the future. He plans to attend Penn State Allegheny to major in finance and become a financial advisor. His dream is to one day work for a Major League Baseball team. As he moves from the walls of our school, he takes with him the skills he has learned and the relationships he has gained. We wish him the bast on his journey!
