Pet of the Week!

Vyola’s journey to our family began in the midst of the Russian and Ukrainian war. She was rescued from an incredibly difficult situation and found her way to us through Petfinder, with the help of Sochi Dogs Rescue—a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving at‑risk dogs, providing them with safety, medical care, and the chance for a loving forever home, even in the most challenging circumstances.

Since coming home with us almost two years ago, Vyola has made remarkable progress. She is learning what it means to feel safe, to trust humans, and to simply be a dog. She has discovered the joys of routine, gentle affection, and moments of play that were likely once unfamiliar to her. Every day, she shows us more of her personality and resilience. Plus, she loves to snuggle–and so do we!!

That said, Vyola carries trauma from her past, which sometimes shows itself as anxiety or fear in new situations. Loud noises, sudden changes, or unfamiliar environments can be overwhelming for her. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, she is steadily working through these challenges. Each small victory—choosing calm over fear, curiosity over retreat—is a testament to her strength.

Vyola reminds us daily of the power of compassion and the incredible impact rescue organizations can have. Her story is one of survival, healing, and hope, and we are honored to walk this journey with her. She is the new love of our lives, and we couldn’t be more grateful!
